The Captain Cook is looking for an experienced, timely Server/ Bartender. Must be able to work evenings and weekends and also have an updated food handler and TAM card. This is a Union position. Salary DOE
This position is responsible to ensure prompt and smooth flow of meal service in accordance with the Preferred Hotel Standards. This individual broils, grills or sautés, prepare and cook pizzas, roasts, and seasons food of all types. Must be able to be work weekends. Salary DOE
Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and administrative level, and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: compliance, employment, maintenance of automated and paper files, and employment equity programs. Salary DOE
This position ensures guest satisfaction through prompt and efficient service in a courteous and professional manner. Responsible for greeting, assisting, and providing guests with information.

At least 2 years experience in a Hotel with a guest service background. Must have the ability to deal with stress and the general public and have a working Knowledgeable of the area and local events within the area.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Position requires strong problem solving and reasoning skills. He/she must have a personal and polite attitude along with a professional appearance. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are fundamental requirements of the position. Must be able to work weekends.

This position is responsible to service guest rooms while maintaining the Hotels Preferred Standards. This individual is required to acknowledge all patrons appropriately and assist with information and/or special requests. Ability to work quickly, accurately, and safely under pressure is required of the position. Individual should be courteous, patient and have a cooperative attitude toward his/her job and other personnel. Communication skills such as listening, speaking, and reading. Salary DOE
This position is responsible for assisting hotel guest with registration and checkout, provides information on special requests, events and attractions in the hotel. Maintain Hotel standards and acknowledging all patrons appropriately in passing. Typing/Computer skills a must. Position requires strong interpersonal, problem solving and reasoning skills. Individual must possess strong command of the English language (foreign language an advantage). Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are fundamental essential functions of the position. Ability to stand on feet for the duration or shift with the exceptions of breaks and meal periods. Salary DOE
This position is responsible for registration and checkout of hotel guest, cashiering, balancing banks, compiling of report data for audit, maintaining Hotel standards and acknowledging all patrons appropriately in passing and assist with information or any special requests. 32 hours available. This is an overnight shift, from 11pm-7am.
• Supervises the food and beverage clerk
• Ensures the accurate preparation of all paperwork associate the movement of food and beverage inventory to all outlets
• Manages, performs, and facilities the month end close for food and beverage costs. Including inventory counts, reconciliation, and journal entry posting
• Monitors and evaluates the internal controls over inventory handling and menu costing
• Liaises with the purchasing team and chefs to ensure accurate costing and menu development
• Updates and maintains the function of the point-of-sale system
• Takes a proactive approach to monitor costs
• Reconciles customer balances for the prepaid wine machine
• Prepares accurate and timely food and beverage and labor reports for management

The ideal candidate will need to have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field
• One to three years of experience in the accounting field and an understanding of inventory and cost of sales accounting.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills required
• Clear concise verbal and written communication
• Strong and confident personality coupled with the ability to work as part of team
• High level of organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Must be comfortable around computers
• Supervising experience a plus/preferred
• Food and beverage industry experience a plus/preferred
• Understanding of Alaska alcoholic beverage laws a plus
• Knowledge of the Squirrel Point of Sale system a plus

This position is responsible for the initial greeting of guests as they enter the Hotel from 4th Avenue. This is a full time union position.
*Essential Functions:
• Maintain required post at all times
• Initially greet guests following Preferred standards
• Coordinate with Bell staff for guest assistance and requests
• Maintain cleanliness of and control traffic in circular driveway
• Coordinate taxi cabs, shuttles, valet parking and other transportation requests
• Assist guests with event locations and directions
• Must possess valid Alaska drivers license
• Other duties as assigned by Bell Captain, Concierge or Front Desk Manager
