Athletic Club Instructor
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and instruct a variety of fitness classes, including but not limited to strength training, cardio, yoga, and other specialized fitness programs
- Provide personalized training sessions tailored to individual member goals
- Educate members on proper exercise techniques, equipment usage, and injury prevention
- Maintain a clean and organized fitness space, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained
- Build positive relationships with members, offering exceptional customer service and support
- Monitor and ensure the safety of all class participants, responding to emergencies as needed
- Collaborate with Athletic Club management to promote fitness programs and encourage member participation
- Stay informed on current fitness trends, certifications, and best practices
- Attend regular staff meetings and ongoing training as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience
- Current certification in group fitness instruction or personal training from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, AFAA)
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Previous experience in fitness instruction, group fitness, or personal training preferred
Skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of fitness principles, exercise techniques, and program design
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire individuals of all fitness levels
- Professional, positive, and approachable demeanor
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
