Barista

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist guests with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages to the hotel’s quality standards
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop, including workstations, equipment, and seating areas
  • Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure a seamless operation
  • Provide information on menu items, making recommendations based on guest preferences
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including food safety and sanitation standards
  • Manage inventory and report any shortages or discrepancies to the manager
  • Work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management team
Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience:

  • TAPs Card certification preferred (21+ preferred for this position, as we do serve alcohol as well)
  • Food Handler’s Card certification
  • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a high-volume coffee shop or café
  • Familiarity with coffee brewing equipment and techniques
  • Familiarity with serving alcoholic beverages to guests

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prepare a variety of coffee beverages accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in handling cash transactions and using point-of-sale systems
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of service
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Passion for coffee and a willingness to learn about new products and techniques
