Maintenance Engineer / Hickel Investment Company

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks to maintain and improve the physical appearance and functionality of properties
  • Ensure equipment is in good repair and carry out minor preventative maintenance
  • Conduct general repair work including plumbing, electrical installations, and maintaining fixtures (bathroom, lighting, etc.)
  • Keep boiler rooms clean, check roofs and rooftop units, and maintain parking lots and grounds
  • Seasonal tasks include sweeping and washing sidewalks, removing snow and ice, and installing/removing interior and exterior decorations
  • Address tenant requests, such as adjusting thermostats and delivering ladders

Property Management:

  • Ensure dumpsters are emptied, and trash removal is on schedule
  • Meet contractors on-site to provide access to areas as needed
  • Maintain fire panels and coordinate with fire inspectors
  • Keep detailed daily logs of maintenance work performed
  • Complete incident reports promptly and accurately, submitting them to the Maintenance Facility Manager

Security and Safety:

  • Ensure the safety and security of properties for tenants and shoppers through effective loss prevention programs
  • Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and improved loss prevention outcomes

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Facility Manager or Vice President to meet the changing needs of the properties
Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in building maintenance or a related field
  • Must have working knowledge of power tools used in building maintenance

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of power tools related to building maintenance
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Cooperative attitude with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Professional appearance and polite demeanor
