Steward

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean working area in the kitchen, ensuring all surfaces, equipment, and utensils are sanitized and tidy
  • Perform specific cleaning tasks, including but not limited to, cleaning ovens, grills, dish machines, and other mechanical equipment
  • Assist in dishwashing and the setup and breakdown of banquet events
  • Coordinate with the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and Chief Steward regarding assigned duties
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Help maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or issues to the Chief Steward
  • Perform other various duties as assigned by the Chief Steward
Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Minimum Experience

  • Experience in a hotel or kitchen environment/maintenance preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate stress management and interact effectively with coworkers

Skills/Abilities

  • Previous experience in kitchen maintenance and cleaning preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Proficient ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a dynamic kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to meet management and hotels needs
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly
