Security Officer

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment
  • Provide protection for the hotel, guests, and staff from incidents such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive occurrences
  • Perform security patrols of the hotel premises, including guest rooms, common areas, and external grounds
  • Respond promptly to alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines, and any security breaches
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and other commonly used computer programs to document incidents and maintain records
  • Observe and report all major incidents to the appropriate authorities and hotel management
  • Maintain effective radio/telephone communications to ensure seamless security operations
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and respond to emergencies in a safe and efficient manner
  • Identify and respond to guests’ needs, providing excellent customer service and assistance
  • Build, strengthen, and maintain collaborative relationships with other departments and external partners, including law enforcement
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance while on duty, in accordance with hotel standards
  • Detain individuals as necessary until police arrive, ensuring the safety and security of the hotel and its guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Manager
Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum Experience:

  • At least one year of experience in law enforcement, military, or security, preferably in building security
  • CPR certification preferred and any other relevant certifications
  • Must successfully complete a pre-hire physical and drug test

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of security procedures and emergency response
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other commonly used computer programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff
  • Ability to work independently, maintain a constant state of alertness, and perform duties in a safe manner
  • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and professionalism
  • Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed professional appearance while on duty, adhering to hotel standards
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
